MINT PDO Threads

MINT™ stands for Minimally Invasive Non-Surgical Thread. It is a unique, absorbable thread made from a complex sugar, polydioxanone (PDO). PDO threads have been safely used in orthopedic and cardiovascular surgeries for over 30 years. Over the past 20 years, threads have been used for cosmetic reasons.

There are different types of threads being used for cosmetic purposes. Threads with barbs or cogs are used to lift sagging skin. Smooth threads are used to improve the texture of the skin, as well as tighten. Smooth threads are pre-threaded onto a small needle, inserted into the skin and then removed leaving behind the thread. Over time, the thread will dissolve and result in newly formed collagen.

Threads can be placed in the face (forehead, around the eyes, in the cheeks, around the mouth), jawline and neck.

Threads can be used in addition to or as a complement to many of our other treatments.
